Learning Beyond the Classroom: A Day with Young Artists
Future Shapers - 15 April 2026
What does it take to shape your own future? On 15 April 2026, our team spent half a day at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Art in Vilnius, exploring that question together with its students.
Our conversation focused on non-formal education: what it is, why it matters, and how it can open doors that a classroom alone sometimes can’t. We talked about how experiences like workshops, youth exchanges, and volunteering help young people discover new interests, build confidence, and develop skills such as teamwork, communication, and adaptability, all of which employers value just as much as diplomas.
We also introduced students to the many opportunities the European Union offers young people, from learning and volunteering abroad to joining international projects. To give them a real taste of non-formal learning, we played some of the games we use in our own activities, proving that learning can be active, interactive, and a lot of fun.
The message we wanted to leave behind was simple: growing as a person goes hand in hand with growing as a professional. Talent and skills open the first doors, but curiosity, confidence, and openness to new experiences are what help you walk through them.
This visit was part of “Future Shapers”, an Erasmus+ Youth Participation project. A big thank you to the school and its students for welcoming us so warmly!
