Who Rules the World?
Workshop - 19 October 2026
What would happen if the world’s wealth were scattered on the floor and everyone had to grab their share? On 19 October 2026, we found out in our simulation game “Who Rules the World?”.
The game started with a scramble. Participants rushed to collect as much “wealth” as they could, but not everyone began on equal footing. Some faced obstacles from the very start, and within minutes the room had split into a few people with a lot, some with a little, and many with almost nothing. Then came the next challenge: groups had to agree on a fairer way to share the wealth. The catch? Those with more resources also had more say in the decision.
Once the game ended, the real conversation began. We talked about how it felt to be on each side, and whether those at the top were willing to give anything up. We explored how the game reflected the real world, where wealth and power often go hand in hand, and how inequality affects access to food, health, education, and a decent life. We also asked tough questions: are human rights violated when the gap is this wide? Should wealth and power be redistributed? And what responsibilities come with having more?
There were no easy answers, but plenty of honest reflection. Thanks to everyone who played, argued, and thought deeply with us!
